Re: The Content of Moral Fibre

By simple definition, one that lacks moral fibre would be a sociopath.

Fibre is that which gives something internal strength. It is not some
visible strength as a suit of armor. Since moral fibre is invisible it
is extremely subjective and interpreting the strength of the fibre is
soley based on the individual interpretation of the people involved and
their own perspectives, life experiences, etc...

Fibre allows something ( like a tree ) to bend, yet not break. I allows
something ( like cloth ) to stretch, yet not tear.

Moral fibre allows an individual, based on the values of those
evaluating him/her to be pushed beyond what may be considered
tolerable, yet remain moral and ethical.

Chosing to forgive rather than to exact revenge where warranted, may be
the ultimate demonstration of moral fibre.
